Presence & Emotion in Rope.
This class is for anyone wanting to have more emotionally rich rope scenes. We will talk about being present with your partner while tying, conveying emotions with rope and bodies, and leaning into whatever arises.
We are passionate about creating courses that highlight our belief that rope is for everyone, and that people, emotions, and intuition should always take precedence. Bringing our backgrounds as professional educators and mathematicians, we seek to offer precise and reasoned explanations for the whys and hows of tying. See some of our courses below, for a full course list, please contact us!
Navigating the Rope Scene.
This class is about communicating your needs and desires, getting what you want out of your interactions with the rope scene, and how to try to make peace with it when you don’t. We’ll discuss how people who tie and people who are tied often talk past each other and have differing needs - and try to understand each other’s perspective.
Agura sequence.
This transition sequence, based around an asymmetrical vertical agura shape, is a challenging but worthwhile transition sequence we created for Folsom Twisted Windows 2022.
Musicality in rope.
Tying with music can be an effective way of setting a mood as well as connecting with an audience. We will cover some basic music theory, discuss musical tying and choreography, and practice tying to some songs. If there is a song you have in mind, bring it and we can musically unpack it together!
Why TK? How TK? What TK?
We’ll discuss decision trees associated with various TKs and our reasoning behind each step in each pattern. This class is all about you and your questions! Why this munter hitch? Why this kannuki? And for the love of all that’s holy, what is that weird criss-cross in the front? We will give as precise explanations as possible!
Playing with Rope: for Beginners.
For those new to rope, we offer a zero-to-sceneing introduction starting with the most basic ties, and ending at playing together with one rope.
